We work mainly in Portland, Purbeck, and Bath stone, due to their workability, attractive appearance, and proximity of the quarries to our workshop!

Our standard slab thickness for names/numbers/plaques etc. is 40mm (4cm) but we can supply 30m or 50mm on request. We can also do greater thicknesses but these would need to be cut to size at the quarry, which greatly increases the cost per item. If you require thinner slabs please contact us for a quote or to check on availability. A small selection of some of our completed work can be seen in the 'Gallery'.

Hand-carved house numbers in either Portland or Purbeck. Standard size is 19.5cm X 14.5cm X 4cm, which comfortably accommodates up to 3 characters. This size is available at a convenient all inclusive set price for 1-3 characters. House numbers can be attached to a solid masonry wall by using a suitable adhesive, or by four screws. Alternatively you may build or set it directly into a wall for a flush finish. Price: from £25 + P&P For house numbers that require a different sized stone, please contact us for a price.

Hand carved house names in either Portland or Purbeck. All custom sizes depending on your individual requirements. For standard slab thicknesses prices are calculated by number of characters plus surface area of stone. These house names can be attached to a solid masonry wall by using adhesive or four screws. Alternatively you may set it directly into a wall for a flush finish.

Feel free to compare our quotes with other prices on the web for mass-produced cast or machine cut equivalents, you may be surprised to find that a hand produced item is not uncompetitive!

Plaques, Signs and Memorials

Hand carved plaques, signs, and memorials in either Portland or Purbeck. Includes tasteful pet memorials, date stones etc. All custom sizes depending on your individual requirements. For standard slab thicknesses prices are calculated by number of characters plus surface area of stone. Mounting suggestions for larger items to be discussed on individual basis. Any font, size, style, language, we can even do elvish!

Stone Carvings

Hand carved in Portland or Bath stone. Garden features or furniture, sculptures etc. All stone carvings are estimated for price and timescale on an individual basis. Price: £P.O.A.

Repointing & Stone Repair

Repointing using lime mortar, individually mixed to match the original mortar, priced on individual basis subject to individual requirements! Repairs/treatments made to weathered stone, fractured stone, or stone that has lost volume for various reasons. Again, to be priced individually on requirements.
